Approved minutes of the Milan Township Board held on January 7, 2008 The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Wittkop at 7:06 PM. Invocation was given and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisor Wittkop asked that the following issues be added to the Agenda: Under New Business: MCRC – Speed limit Resolution All yeas. Motion carried. Public Comment: None at this time. Consent Agenda, Minutes, Disbursements, Fund Balances and Building Report: Trustee Mancik made motion to accept consent agenda. Trustee Dopkowski seconded. All yeas. Motion carried. Supervisor Wittkop stated the Consent Agenda be accepted as corrected and filed for audit. Supervisor Wittkop asked if and changes/corrections to the December 13, 2007 minutes. No changes or corrections. Supervisor Wittkop asked for support for minutes to be filed for audit. All yeas. Motion carried. Clerk Rock read the disbursements: General Fund = $ 5668.04 Fire Fund = 2202.75 Bldg Fund = 132.00 Road Fund = 4318.85 Total = $12,421.64 Clerk Rock made motion to pay bills Seconded by Treasurer Early. All yeas. Motion carried. Treasurer Early gave fund balances. General Fund. = $124,570.49 Fire Fund = $ 26, 022.35 Building Fund = $ 26,955.50 Road Fund = $ 33,390.45 Flagstar, renov:= $187,668.47 Chase Bank: =$185,315.48 Board noted that there was 6 CD’s had to be renewed Supervisor Wittkop made motion to renewal all for nine months. Trustee Dopkowski seconded. After discussion it was decided that Treasurer Early would check with the bank to see if all CD’s could be renewed at the same time and all come up for renewal on Oct 15, 2008 Supervisor Wittkop amended his motion to renewal all at the same time and have them come up for renewal on October 15, 2008. Clerk Rock seconded. Vote taken. All yeas. Motion carried. Trustee Mancik gave the Building Report: 1 permit were issued Total money received: $ 75.00 Total paid out: $121.44 Supervisor Wittkop stated all reports to the filed for audit. Old Business: Updated Zoning ordinances. Supervisor Wittkop asked if there were any changes/updates anyone wanted to add. No one had any. The board discussed a date to meet to discuss and the date of January 19, 2008 at 9 a.m. was set. Vote taken. All Yeas. Motion passed. New Business: MCRC – Resolution for Speed Limit. Supervisor Wittkop read a letter from MCRC asking the board to adopt a resolution regarding speed limits. After discussion the board discussed having Supervisor Wittkop check with the township attorney. Issues from Board Members or Officials Treasurer Early stated he read in the MTA magazine that the last day he can collect taxes according to the article is February 28, 2008 Treasurer Early wants to still collect on February 14 as it was advertised and also do February 28, 2008 Trustee Mancik asked Supervisor Wittkop if he had went to Holcim for the inspections. Supervisor Wittkop responded he had gone with Bill Craigmile of OHM December 17, 2007. Trustee Dopkowski wanted the board to know that no one showed up to the Planning Commission meeting regarding the Waste Water Treatment plant. After discussion by the board it was decided that the Planning Commission chair needed to contact Mr. Heath and inform him of the next meeting date and tell him he is on the agenda. Supervisor Wittkop stated he was starting to work on the budget and asked that if anyone had anything they wanted on it to let him know by e-mail him or phone. Supervisor Wittkop also stated he meet with Brian Thuman from METC and Jamie Krscynski from ITC regarding power lines possibly going up in the township. Trustee Dopkowski stated he could not go to the MTA conference due to having to work and asked if anyone knew of anyone who would like to take his place. John Schauer was named and he will be contacted to see if he can attend. Public Comment none Adjournment Supervisor Wittkop made motion to adjourn. Trustee Dopkowski seconded.
