Meeting called to order at 7:05 p.m.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Roll call: Supervisor Phil Heath (present), Clerk Margaret Rock (present), Treasurer Jim Early (present), Trustee Olga Mancik (present), and Trustee Robert Dopkowski (present)
Public Comment: None
Agenda additions or changes: Change ditch cleaning to ditch mowing.
Consent Agenda, Minutes, Disbursements, Fund Balances and building Report:
Motion by Clerk Rock and seconded by Trustee Dopkowski to accept the Consent Agenda. Motion carried.
Motion by Trustee Mancik and seconded by Trustee Dopkowski to approve the minutes of February 12, 2009 meeting. Motion carried.
Clerk Rock read the disbursements: General Fund = $10,086.89
Fire Fund = 1,137.00
Bldg. Fund = 269.89
Other = __________
Total = $11,493.78
Motion by Clerk Rock and seconded by Treasurer Early to pay the bills of $11,493.78. Motion carried.
Treasurer Early gave Fund Balances: Chase (savings) = $218,839.94
MB & T (checking) = 15,595.44
Flagstar = 200,290.76
MB & T (savings) = 15,503.20
Total = $450,229.34
Motion by Supervisor Heath and seconded by Clerk Rock to accept the Fund Balance report. Motion carried.
Trustee Mancik gave the Building Report:
1 permit issued
Total money received = $85.00
Total paid out = $253.00
Motion by Treasurer Early and seconded by Trustee Dopkowski to accept the Building Report. Motion carried.
Old Business:
Garbage Resolution
Motion by Treasurer Early and seconded by Trustee Dopkowski to accept the proposal from Stevens Disposal and get resolution written up for the trash pickup.
Motion carried.
Westshore Services Invoice
On hold until a copy of contract is received.
Bats in Hall
Motion by Treasurer Early and seconded by Trustee Mancik to get price for exterminator service. Motion carried.
New Business:
Danny Wise – Ditch Mowing Contract
Contract from D&D Wyse for mowing 52.67 miles of Milan Township secondary roads for 3 year term was discussed.
Motion by Treasurer Early and seconded by Trustee Mancik to accept the contract for 2009 – 2011 at $6000 per year. Motion carried.
D & K Service Contract
Contract presented by DK Outdoor Services for trimming and mowing of all designated grass areas at the township hall, Rice Cemetery, Spaulding Cemetery, and Azalia Cemetery.
Motion by Clerk Rock and seconded by Treasurer Early to accept the contract for 2009 Lawn Care Services from D & K Outdoor Services. Motion carried.
Disposal of Things in Basement
Like to dispose of saw horses, angle bench, two metal boxes, and a wood chest that are in the basement.
Motion by Treasurer Early and seconded by Trustee Dopkowski to dispose of items in basement. Motion carried.
Election Commission Meeting Date
The Election Commission set a date of March 28, 2009 at 8:45 a.m. for the meeting of May 5, 2009 school election.
Issues from Board Members or Officials
Treasurer Early: Safe deposit box with 2 members signature.
Motion by Treasurer Early and seconded by Trustee Dopkowski to put Supervisor Phil Heath and Treasurer Jim Early on safe deposit box authorization card.
Motion carried.
Trustee Mancik: Holcim meeting tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. to monitor the wells.
MORE meeting on March 26, 2009 at City hall in Milan.
Clerk Rock: Millage Proposal ends this year and we need a special election in November.
Motion by Trustee Dopkowski and seconded by Trustee Mancik to hold special election for millage (fire and roads) in November 2009.
Motion carried.
Brush for vacuum is broken and we either need a new vacuum or a new roller brush.
Motion by Supervisor Heath and seconded by Trustee Dopkowski to purchase a new vacuum at no more than $200. Motion carried.
Trustee Mancik: Spring clean up. Supervisor Heath will get a date for the clean up and bring to April board meeting.
Treasurer Early: Error in tax bills, fire millage and road millage were reversed on tax bills.
Supervisor Heath: MCRC – Road contract for gradall work, Supervisor Heath will contact the road commission.
Sump Pump – We had 6” – 8 “ of water in the basement as the sump pump burned out.
Motion by Supervisor Heath and seconded by Clerk Rock to purchase (2) sump pumps from Ace Hardware at a cost of no more than $300. Motion carried.
Public Comment:
Seneca Capital spoke about project. A hardware supply company that specializes as a equipment shop. They are working with planning commission to finalize plans for a building on Couper Rd. east of US 23.
Motion by Clerk Rock and seconded by Treasurer Early to allow the clerk to write a check to the Liquor Control Inspector (William Martin Jr.) to cover 4 months of inspections at $55 per month. Motion carried.
