The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Roll call: Supervisor Phil Heath (Absent), Clerk Margaret Rock (present), Treasurer Jim Early (present), Trustee Olga Mancik (present), and Trustee Robert Dopkowski (present).
Motion by Treasurer Early and seconded by Trustee Dopkowski for Clerk Rock to chair the meeting. Motion Carried.
Public Comment: None
Agenda additions or changes: Add Assessor report to new business.
Consent Agenda, Minutes, Disbursements, Fund Balances and Building Report:
Motion by Trustee Mancik and seconded by Trustee Dopkowski to accept the Consent Agenda with addition of assessor report. Motion carried.
Motion by Trustee Mancik and seconded by Clerk Rock to accept the minutes as revised. Total bills of $30,521.02. Motion carried.
Treasurer Early read the disbursements:
General Fund = 17,154.71
Fire Fund = 759.00
Bldg. Fund = 406.15
Road Fund = 17,043.65
Other = _1,041.52___
Total = $36,405.03
Motion by Clerk Rock and seconded by Trustee Dopkowski to pay the bills of $36,405.03. Motion carried.
Fund Balances:
Chase (savings) = $342,522.03
MB & T (checking) = 19,143.50
Flagstar = 201,587.82
MB & T (savings) = 15,533.60
Total = $578,786.95
Motion by Trustee Dopkowski and seconded by Trustee Mancik to accept the fund balance report. Motion carried.
Trustee Mancik gave the Building Report:
2 permits issued
Total money received = $155.00
Total paid out = $416.00
Motion by Clerk Rock and seconded by Treasurer Early to accept the Building Report. Motion carried.
Old Business
Review site plan for explosives placement: No residential dwelling within 275’ of the explosives. Owner is aware that any potential buyer of the adjacent property must be notified of this requirement.
Motion by Trustee Dopkowski and seconded by Treasurer Early to approve the site plan for Veola with restriction that if property is sold, owner will tell potential buyer of issues. Motion carried.
New Business
Crime Watch meeting at hall: A crime watch area has been set up from Hickory, Cone, Dennison and County Line roads area.
Motion by Clerk Rock and seconded by Trustee Dopkowski to put the Crime Watch information on the web site. Motion carried.
The chair of the Crime Watch asked the board if they may hold their January meeting at the township hall. Board discussed. Motion by Trustee Dopkowski and seconded by Trustee Mancik to approve of Crime Watch meetings at Milan Township Hall. Motion carried.
Lighting for Ramp: Fowler Construction unhooked the power line from the building when they installed the handicap ramp. Will contact them to fix.
Motion by Clerk Rock and seconded by Trustee Dopkowski for John Schauer to look into a light for the handicap ramp.
Adhesive Strips for Ramp: Put on hold at this time.
L. Edmonds Engineering Bill: John Schauer stated that Mr. Edmonds had ask him to put on agenda and he wants the board to reduce his engineering bill.
Motion by Clerk Rock and seconded by Treasurer Early to have L. Edmonds pay the entire bill for engineering service. Motion carried.
Floor Plate: Dave Friend to pick up a aluminum plate and install on end of the handicap ramp where it ends at concrete slab.
Motion by Treasurer Early and seconded by Trustee Dopkowski to approve of no more then $175 to purchase an aluminum plate for the handicap ramp. Motion carried.
Motion by Clerk Rock and seconded by Trustee Dopkowski to write check for $175 to purchase aluminum plate for the handicap ramp. Motion carried.
Issues from the Board Members
Trustee Mancik – October 22 is next MORE meeting. Trash Day is Saturday Oct 10, 2009 will board members be present. She will not be present at the November board meeting.
Public Comment – John Schauer attended a Zoning Board of Appeals class and like to get reimbursed. Motion by Trustee Dopkowski and seconded by Trustee Mancik to reimburse John Schauer for Zoning Board of Appeals class he took. Motion carried.
