Milan Township 16444 Cone Road Milan, MI  48160 734-439-1707   Proposed minutes of the Milan Township Board held on October 14, 2008   The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Wittkop at 7:18 PM.  Invocation was given and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.   Public Comment:              Agenda additions or changes Trustee Mancik made motion to add under Old Business Resolution for Farmland Preservation. Clerk Rock seconded. Supervisor Wittkop made motion to add land splits under New Business. Vote taken. All yeas. Motion carried   Consent Agenda, Minutes, Disbursements, Fund Balances and Building Report: Supervisor Wittkop made motion to accept consent agenda. Vote taken. All yeas. Motion carried. Supervisor Wittkop stated the Consent Agenda be accepted as corrected and filed for audit.   Supervisor Wittkop asked if and changes/corrections to the September 11, 2008 minutes. No changes or corrections. Trustee made motion to accept the minutes. Clerk Rock seconded. Vote taken. All yeas. Motion carried.   Clerk Rock read the disbursements:   General Fund = $ 9677.60                                                             Fire Fund       =      254.50                                                             Bldg Fund     =       303.47                                                             Road Fund    =  $                                                                          Total               = $10,274.21    Clerk Rock made motion to pay bills. Trustee Mancik noticed her check was not on disbursement. Clerk Rock said she would check into. Supervisor Wittkop seconded paying the bills with approval to print Trustee Mancik a check for $168.30. Vote Taken. All yeas. Clerk Rock responded yes. Supervisor Wittkop stated all reports to be filed for audit.                 Resolution for Farmland and Open Space Preservation Supervisor Wittkop read and board discussed. After discussion Treasurer Early moved to accept. Trustee Mancik seconded. Roll Call vote. All yeas. Motion passed.   Old Business: Well Bid Information Treasurer Early read the cost for the well. Board discussed. Treasurer Early is to check to make sure the cost includes pipe and water to hall.     New Business: Bids for Garbage Pick Up. Clerk Rock stated that she had sent out four requests for bids and received three bids back. Clerk Rock read the bid costs Stevens Disposal = $31.05 quarter total.                Allied Waste        =$39.75 plus fuel costs and rent of $3.00 month for bin.                Republic               =$36.30 Option 1 $$46.05 Option 2 Board discussed. After discussion it was decided that a letter would be sent out with a preaddressed postcard included. The letter would explain what the township was wanting to do and the postcard would allow the residents to vote for or against the proposal.               MCRC Meeting on October 21, 2008 Supervisor Wittkop stated that the meeting starts at 1:00 p.m. and asked if anyone would like to attend.was also asked to get competitor prices for bridge prices and maybe send out for bids.              Property Split – Matt Gruden Board looked request over and it was found to be incomplete. Mr. Gruden was informed at the Planning Commission meeting that certain paper work was needed before tonight’s meeting and paperwork was not provided by realtor. Mr. Gruden will get information to board.   Issues from Board Members or Officials Treasurer Early stated that there was a meeting he would like to attend and have paid for before next meeting to get the early bird cost. Supervisor Wittkop moved to have clerk write out check. Clerk Rock seconded. Supervisor Wittkop    stated he called the attorney to see if part of the property the township acquired could be used as a cemetery. He has not received response yet. Trustee Mancik stated that the yearly MTA Conf. info. for Jan. 2009 was in the current MTA Magazine and she wants to insure we get the early bird price.  Trustee Dopkowski handed out some informational flyers.   Public Comment             A citizen stated that in the letter to the residents regarding the garbage ordinance it needed to state it was like a franchise.   Adjournment Trustee Mancik made motion to adjourn.
